Sam Papa, Miami senior and Howe Writing Center student manager, has been awarded the International Writing Centers Association’s 2014 Future Leaders Award. Papa won the award for his exemplary work as a Howe Writing Center consultant for four years, as the writing center’s student manager for the past three years, as co-chair of the East Central Writing Center
Several Howe Writing Center consultants were recognized with several honors and awards at the Department of English’s annual award ceremony. On May 7, 2014, English majors, faculty members, graduate students, and staff gathered to recognize outstanding achievement among their undergraduate and graduate students. Students received awards and honors for their demonstrated excellence in writing for English courses.
Miami University’s newest book publication, Love and Honor: The Great Seal Essays, features writing by 11 Howe Writing Center employees. The book is a collection of essays written last spring as entries in the Armstrong Student Center’s Great Seal Writing Contest, which the Howe Writing Center sponsored.
